| Poetry CD and Booklet Four 1. THE POLICE ARE COMING The police are coming, You better run, Some like to beat people, Just for fun. They beat your head, And bust your balls, Then suck your money ............. 2. Now You Die Loosen up Take your time Open up, let it go, rap yo’ rap Let it flow. Lay it out, in the beat Make it move, feel the heat. ......... 3. IT’S THE CULTURE It’s the culture It’s like a vulture. When you’re born It’ll grab you, Swoop down and nab you. The claws will rip you, unzip you. The vulture’s black, Put you on your back, ........ 4. PLEASE MR. TEACHER Please Mr. teacher Can I go free? I’m tired and bored, Can’t you see? My brain is like rubber My eyes are all red, .......... 5. I DON'T EVEN CARE I come to school, But I don’t even care, I sit here and sweat In my underwear. It’s so boring, I always say, .......... 6. SUBSTITUTE TEACHER I sit here all day, And My butt goes numb. I know it’s real bad When I can’t feel my thumb. Somewhere in my brain, A beeper goes beep, ............ 7. CLASSROOM RAP Hey you people, you better be quiet, Don’t yell and scream or start a riot. Study hard and just be cool, Don’t jump around and act like a fool. Answer the questions, And read the books, And don’t give the teachers no dirty looks. ............... 8. COME ON PEOPLE Come on people Let’s get together Forget about the clouds, And don't mind the weather. Pick up your pencil And open your books, .......... 9. DEATH RAINS DOWN It has been said, Thou shalt not kill! If you don't listen, Do what you will. DEATH RAINS DOWN, THE SKY IS DARK. ............. 10. RAINY DAY RAP It’s a rainy day, rainy day, Sky is black, Rain is falling, falling, I’m out here calling, calling, Eyes full of tears, What am I doing here? ........... 11. SOME PEOPLE IN THE GHETTO Some people in the ghetto, They pray all day, But the God they believe in, Ain’t got nothing to say. The gutters stink, From vomit, piss and beer, ............ 12. I GOT THE POWER As your teacher today, I got the power, Not for too long, Less than an hour. Unless I have to, I won’t use it .......... 13. BOOGERS Eduardo went outside To blow his nose, Then washed it out, With a garden hose. Then he takes off his socks, After he untied his shoes, They smelled so bad, We got the Stinkin' Feet Blues, ........... 14. DEATH BY GANGSTER You have no future, Your tomorrow is canceled! The bullet is almost, Piercing your eye, Thundering into your brain. Ending the Who You Are. ................... 15. GOD AND THE RIB BONE You remember, back in the Bible, when God told Adam he was going to make him a women out of his rib? Why he had to use a rib, it doesn’t say, but you know that taking out a rib is major surgery. He could have used a finger nail or a tooth, you know, something that doesn’t leave a scar....., but… ....... 16. NANDANDO Nadando en el agua Fria del Mar Alas Crystalinas ....... 17. SPINNING WHIRLING WILDLY SWIRLING (Loud! close to screaming) Spinning whirling, Wildly swirling, I ride this ragged floating leaf At breakneck speed, Through thundering Raging tides. ........ 18. DISAPPROVAL We are taught to idolize courage But seldom to practice it. We are taught to admire creativity, ....... 19. KEEP OUT OF MY LIFE Absolute impenetrable silence Used as a weapon, Passive quiet violence Where withdrawal gives no quarter, Merciless and sharp Designed to draw heart's blood, Fierce as the edge ............. 20. LEMON-GREEN MIST Lemon-green mist Caresses black-branched Trees, Slowly waving Warm red leaves, That clatter and hiss, .......... |
