| Poetry CD and Booklet Three 1. SPLINTERS Grabbing splinters In a swirling sea, Frozen screams Fly............. 2. DON’T ROW-RELAX! Do you row your boat Down the stream? Why use all that, Extra steam? If you go upstream, The other way, You have to Make some effort, Every day. ............... 3. SKY BIRDS Sky birds float Quietly bye. Wings leave Soft white trails, ............ 4. MOUNTAINS APPEARED Mountains appeared, The sun beamed, Moon and stars Raced bye. ......... 5. NO PAST I have no past, I’ve never had a past, The past is only a memory, A concept, A fantasy, A misperception. In this present moment, Embracing all that is, ....... 6. PINK LADY Soft petals of pink flowers Warmly wrap around me, Sweet dew-drops, clear white Like honey, ......... 7. GIVE ME TWENTY BUCKS Give me twenty bucks I’ll do what you say. If I do any more, ......... 8. For kids learning how to count. ONE TO TEN “That’s a rhyme momma,” “Let’s call it One to Ten honey.” One and one adds up to two, I think about the color blue. ......... 9. PICNIC LUNCHES Into the tightly pitched Reed basket, Throw the last remains Of your picnic lunches, Sunday brunches, And the intestines Of your mother. 10. TRAPPED IN THIS PLACE I'm trapped in this place, I have no face. No one knows my real name, My heart’s in pain, And all aflame. I said hello to this athletic guy, ......... 11. TO ONE WHO LOVES In the corner, there she was, Squatting on a knobby rubber mat. Breasts unstrung, the fat of her belly Making ludicrous patterns across her navel. 12. THE NIGHT The Night Black and thick Wraps around this Puddle of light. ......... 13. SOFT YELLOW CLOUD The soft yellow cloud, Made a sound so loud, My ears dropped into my shoe, Then stuck out its tongue, And said "I'm to young," To be part of this whoop-de-do. ............. 14. THIS SOURCE OF LIGHT From this Source of Light All existence comes forth. Manifold, multitudes pour Endlessly, From this fountain. Unembarrassed, We wiggle and squirm, ............. 15. RECORDED IN TRANSIT: SEVEN MINUS TEN The sapped sucked-out shell Lay yellow in the blistering sun-ray, Long ruined, and cast empty there Amid the echoes, Quivering with sharp regret. ...... 16. The Mighty Sneeze Bless you for your mighty sneeze, It blew you down, To your hands, and knees. Quickly! Quickly! Run to bed, Before your next sneeze, ........... 17. THE DEAD LAY The dead lay In dark holes changing, While everything else, Is re-arranging. Somewhere, deep Within the ground, The bones of Jesus, ......... 18. THE LOVLIEST FLOWERS The Loveliest Flowers Roses are red And covered with dew, ....... 19. THE LEAVES ARE ALL DANCING Suddenly! The wind arises, Lifting the leaves Of all colors, and sizes. Touching together As if they’re romancing, They fly through the air, The leaves are all dancing. .......... 20. REALIZATION Lost in our smallness, We think we're the ocean, Ignoring the bars on the cage We are trapped in. Limited in desire, To know our true nature, We waste precious years, Wrapped in illusions. Our life passes bye, ....... |
