| MAGDHA WANTS TO PLAY Visual Magdha lives in Iraq. In the city of Bagdad. Visual Life is very hard for Magda and his family. Visual Often the electricity doesn’t work, and the toilets don’t flush. Visual Sometimes the water doesn’t work, and when it does, it smells bad. Visual Magdha wants to play outdoors, but his father and mother say it is too dangerous. Visual Bhada was Magdha’s friend, one day when they were playing outside, some men took Bhada away. Visual Nobody can find where Bhada was taken, so Magdha can’t play outside anymore. Visual Everyday he hears explosion that are sometimes near, and sometimes far away, and he knows people are dying and are being blown apart. Visual His school teacher Mr. Amad was exploded by a a bomb one day. Visual He was on his way to school and he was blown into little pieces. They couldn’t find all the pieces. Visual Magdha hasn’t many toys so he tries to read the holy books but he can’t understand what they say. Visual He looks out the window at the wrecked cars and blown-up buildings, and hopes someday, he can go out to play. Visual Copyright L. Epston 11.1.05 |
