| MUSALAAM AND THE VIOLIN Visual Musalaam was twelve years old and she loved her violin. Visual Her grandfather had the violin that he gave to Musalaam when she was only eight, and she first learned how to tune it. Visual She practiced for many hours every day, and for many days every month, and many months every year, because she also loved music. Visual Musalaam always took good care of her violin. She cleaned and polished it until it was shiny, and kept it in a safe place. Visual Musalaam’s parents had dreams about Musalaam playing music for lots of people all over the world, and making them happy with her music and making lots of money. Visual When Musalaam practiced and played, her parents were always happy, and the neighbors listened and her music made them happy too. Visual They loved Musalaam very much. Visual One day in the spring, one very nice day, airplanes flew down from the sky and dropped bombs on the house next door. Visual Someone said there were very bad people living there. Visual The explosions knocked down her house too. Visual Musalaam and her parents were not hurt, but her beautiful violin was crushed by the house falling down. Visual Her parents cannot afford to buy her another violin, so Musalaam cannot play anymore. Visual Copyright L. Epston 12.1.05 |
