INNER VISION THERAPY

It is my pleasure to answer your questions concerning Inner Vision
Therapy.
Inner Vision Therapy is a unique interface of art and
psychology that combines electronic audio-visual technology, fine art,
and the intuitive skills of a therapist.
As a technology, IVT (Inner Vision Therapy) uses three carousel slide
projectors, two micro-processor dissolve units and hundred of slides that
were made by creating and photographing artworks  made just for
IVT.  A sound background of relaxing music is provided while
a session of Inner Vision Therapy is being conducted.
The artworks are organic in form, brilliant and intense in color,
and provide an extremely enjoyable and satisfying experience.  They are
made by using both conventional and unconventional art materials such
as watercolors, inks and oils.
These artworks appear to be a section of life itself, pure living matter and
swirling realms of infinite
energy.
The abstract and object-free appearance of these artworks  is free of
specific content, so the viewer  can connect with his own individual inner
world  of feeling, fantasy and personal experience while in the
altered state of consciousness called reverie, a state of awareness
somewhere between waking and light sleep that is induced by the
Inner Vision Experience.
The Inner Vision Therapist uses the microprocessor dissolve units to
gently blend, overlap and merge the three projected images with one
another.  This difficult and creative use of his medium allows incredibly
beautiful colors and patterns to form and also produces effects of great
depth  and vast space.
After the Visions Experience which can last from twenty to forty-five
minutes, the viewer slowly floats back to waking consciousness but is still
in a very relaxed, open and aware state of mind.  The imagery  while in
the state of reverie are still very fresh and often are still present in the
viewers inner experience.

The therapist must now gently contact the viewer and invite him/her to
begin to share and externalize the journey of fantasy, perceptions and
feeling that are occurring.
The Inner Vision Therapist does not analyze or interpret the viewer's
experience.  The  function of the therapist is to open an intimate and safe
space for the viewer to  present his experience in the waking state
Recording  the experiences that are shared is an important part of the
session so the viewer can study and recollect his experience at another
time and from other points of view.
The value of Inner Vision Therapy is to provide an occasion for someone
to contact his own uniqueness and personal imaging and creative state of
consciousness and to share this special part of who
he is with another.  This experience is very valuable for those persons
blocked and defended from inner feeling and  from  knowing about their
unique  individual creativity. It is also valuable for those persons who are
unable to respond to verbal  psychotherapy.
For  those burdened with low self esteem  and self-directed negativity,
Visions allow a period of ultimate affirmation and support, and for those
who are lost to their sense of self and who don't know
who they are, Vision provides direct contact with this source of self
identity which is in the creative center of what we are.
Inner Vision Therapy is intrinsically  connected to its art form.
It is the power and potency of this art form which provides the core of this
method of  healing.  The  therapist who presents Visions is presenting
and creating an art experience for the viewer and afterward is
sharing the effect of this art experience.
A person trained as a psychologist or psychotherapist needs to have
training and experience with artwork in all the dimensions of creating,
presenting, and  understanding to be certified to use Inner Vision
Therapy.
Conventional training  and practice in psychology does not qualify a
person to use this media.  Those  persons trained and experienced in fine
art and meditation would be more appropriately prepared to use
this medium of healing.
Inner Vision Therapy is  a totally  benevolent  experience. It has been
experienced by thousands of people  over  many years and has always
produced  an enjoyable and beneficial response without exception.

Sincerely,

Larry Epston
